Law Abiding Citizen
Posted in: We Think It's Cool | Oct 26th, 2010 | No Comments »I am admittedly behind the times when it comes to seeing movies. I just watched Law Abiding Citizen (which I know came out just over a year ago) and I have to talk about it.
I am no Roger Ebert so I don’t have a professional critique. But, I can say 2 lessons stood out when watching this thriller…
1.) Be the best at your profession. Clyde was the best at what he did. While we don’t condone that he used it for evil, it is apparent that Clyde’s professional success (when it was used for it’s rightful purpose) was achieved by being at the top of his profession. So, whether you are a Doctor, Programmer, Sales Rep, or Artist..Be.The.Best.
2.) Don’t answer your door unless you know who is on the other side.
Watch the movie and you will know what I am talking about on both accounts. If you feel like it, let me know if you liked it.
National Nut Day, October 22nd
Posted in: Cool Shape Ideas | Oct 22nd, 2010 | No Comments »Today is National Nut Day which is a little nutty if you ask me. Not sure if it’s here to recognize the “nutty” people around us/me!, nuts the food, or nuts that go along with bolts. Either way, I found this a great opportunity to high light a couple kind of nuts that we offer (aka compressed tee stock shapes).
The peanut shape is not so crazy at all. It’s one of the basics including 1 full color insert card. It can be used with the stock peanut artwork or add your company logo, tagline, website, or coupon to fully maximize the insert card shown here:
The Reeses Peanut Butter Cups showcase a full color wrapper that
replicates the candy packaging. And, there is a t-shirt inside (crazy huh?):
If you have artwork for a new shape, nutty or not, give us a call or send an email. We would be happy to create a mock up or discuss your idea further.
In honor of this day, I think I’ll go make some mega nutty chocolate brownies! Have a great weekend.
Do You Speak Our Lingo?
Posted in: TeeCompressed News | Oct 21st, 2010 | No Comments »One of our Tee Compressed reps told a client, “I’ll need a vectored file with PMS colors of your logo for the insert card.”
The client responded, “It’s like you are speaking a different language, I don’t know what any of that means.” And, we understood the frustration. It’s not the first time that our lingo has gotten lost in translation.
So as Ricky Ricardo would say- Lucy, you got some ‘splainin’ to do!
Alright Ricky, we’ll explain…. Here are some commonly used compressed tee key words/terms:
Vectored File- We are asking for original or first generation artwork that has not been converted to a JPEG, GIF, or PDF.
PMS Colors- These are the color(s) that your artwork will be printed in. Most company logos use specific PMS colors every time. This helps to brand your company. If you aren’t locked into a color you can reference a color chart (we have one on line), and select from many options.
Insert Card- When you open the shrink wrap, you will have in your hand a shirt and a full color printed paper insert card cut into the compressed shape. The insert card is the visual that you see with artwork when the shirt is compressed.
Order Confirmation- This is the confirmation that includes your order details (shirt size breakdown, ship to location, in hands date, placement/virtual shirt and insert card mock ups). It is emailed to you for approval before the pre-production proof is shipped.
Pre-Production Proof- This is your open screen printed shirt with a copy of your insert card. This is shipped to you after the order confirmation is approved. Upon approving this, we go into full production.
In Hands Date- This is the date you need the shirts. If there isn’t a specific event, product launch, or absolute date you need the shirts, that is okay. Standard orders run 10 days for production.
Hope this lesson in the Tee Compressed language was helpful!
Just for fun…Lucy & Ethel learning how to work on the chocolate assembly line-

Thank you for the letter you sent! Quite frankly I am in awe, I've never worked with a company (or a person) who would hand-write a note to a customer.
