Posted in: Wearable Wednesday | May 25th, 2011 | No Comments »I’m feeling patriotic. It’s Memorial Day this Monday. Simply put this is a day of remembrance for those that have died in our nation’s service. It was first observed on May 30th, 1868 with flowers laid on Union and Confederate soldiers graves at Arlington National Cemetery. For this Wearable Wednesday, I suggest we stock up on our red, white and blue.
Marriage Proposal Goes Viral
Posted in: We Think It's Cool | May 20th, 2011 | No Comments »A boy named Matt wants to propose to a girl named Ginny. Matt creatively makes a movie trailer that Ginny views live at the movies with her brother. Awe, a love story…I post this not only because I root for love but because this video has been viewed over 6 million times and been seen all over the place from GMA to The Knot. Comments on their website include some celebrities taking note as well. Just goes to show with a little creativity an age old question can be asked in yet another unexpected way. I am interested to see where this notoriety leads.
Wearable Wednesday-Dressing for a Trade Show- Tips From TeeCompressed.com
Posted in: Wearable Wednesday | May 18th, 2011 | No Comments »The ASI Show is at the San Diego Convention Center this week. So it got me thinking- What am I going to wear to this trade show? If your company issues a dress code, or uniform you are all set. But, if this isn’t the case, as an attendee or exhibitor, the appropriate attire to wear is business casual. I know that for myself, I don’t see clients on a daily basis, so on those days I take advantage of the opportunity to dress casual (sans the business, which means jeans and sometimes flip flops!) However, in front of clients it
is always important to make the right impression, especially if it is the first impression. When I am at a trade show, there are 3 things I want to instantly come across about me- I am professional, approachable, and confident. It is also important to be comfortable but not slouchy looking. Let’s look at this from head to toe-
HEAD- Be Groomed. Men- This means cut your hair and shave. Women- Tame your hair, whether you wear it down, or pull it back, keep it polished. Don’t wear too much make up, you don’t want to look like you just stepped in from a night out.
BODY- Wear a long or short sleeve button down shirt/blouse or sweater. Tie and jacket are optional. Nice slacks (or a skirt for the ladies.) Ladies don’t wear a skirt to short, or a blouse that shows the girls; you want people to pay attention to your face. Also, try your outfit on before the morning of, nothing is worse than trying to scramble for something to wear that might not fit appropriately. Iron the night before if you can.
FEET- Comfortable casual. Women- I avoid heels. After all I want to focus on people and product not my aching feet. Instead I opt for slip on flats. Men-There are so many options now, loafers, top siders, dressy tennies will all work.
COLOGNE/PERFUME- Smell good but don’t spray the entire bottle on. No one wants to smell you from 5 aisles away. Also, be conscious of sweating…BO will ward off potential clients.
BAG- This is optional. I suggest bringing something to hold business cards, catalogs, etc. If your pants have pockets, cool store stuff there. Whether you are passing out or collecting it is best to have everything easily accessible.
JEWELRY- Complete your look with a watch, ladies- small earrings or necklace- again you don’t want to look like you are dressed from the night before. So, keep it simple and tailored.
Hope you all enjoy the show!!
Pointy Toe Boots
Posted in: Cool Shape Ideas, We Think It's Cool | May 16th, 2011 | No Comments »The standard a** kickin boot wasn’t enough for some folks in Matehuala, Mexico. Recently it’s become all the rage to embellish boots by elongating them with pointy toes 2’-3’ long and fashion them with glitter and sequins. The boots worn during performances of a new gyrating dance were meant to attract the opposite sex- a sort of ‘the bigger the better boot theory.’ In the picture below members of the ‘Parranderos’ dance crew wait to dance.
At Tee Compressed we can embellish your tee shirt with screen print, compression and a full color insert card. Here’s our cowboy boot and some other country related shapes.

Thank you for the letter you sent! Quite frankly I am in awe, I've never worked with a company (or a person) who would hand-write a note to a customer.
