All I have to do is type Seinfeld and I instantly laugh. My husband and I are huge fans…huge! We TIVO the re-runs daily to watch episodes we’ve seen countless times. Some days are lives feel like episodes from the show. We even tend to consistently quote it which draws out fans all around us who quickly catch the humor. Jerry Seinfeld. Here is a man who states the obvious. In my opinion that is what makes him so funny. Pointing out the mundane life occurrences that happen to us all enables us to relate to him. He makes light of situations that can sometimes be awkward, sad, or boring. The key is that it’s what has happened to him.
Today, I just ran across his website- Jerry Seinfeld.com. I will check it out from time to time. You know why? Because he posts clips of his stand up that he’s archived over the years. His ever changing website gives me a break from my daily life with laughter. And, just by making me laugh, he has created value. I want to see what he has to say next. Can you say that about your business, your website, your emails, or even your voice mails? What will draw people back to you?
He also just started Tweeting. Now, I am not big into Twitter. I don’t follow anyone. But, I’d like to see what he has to say. So far he’s just written some one liners. And, again staying true to himself, they make me chuckle and I move on with my day. His newest TV creation is a reality show called the Marriage Ref. This show was created from his daily life, when as he tells the story, he and his wife, Jessica, were arguing and thought we need a ref to help us battle this out.
The point to all this is that Jerry Seinfeld is worth about $750 million dollars because he is himself. He is the brand. His value is joke telling that is relatable; he entertains the masses. When I need a laugh I turn to him.
Here’s a short scene about Renting a Car…Enjoy!
