Thank you for the letter you sent! Quite frankly I am in awe, I've never worked with a company (or a person) who would hand-write a note to a customer.

My husband recently sent this photo to me. The one on the right that screams sexy, right? At least he thought so, maybe I should pick one up…Yeah, not gonna happen! I won’t be wearing cactus anytime soon, but this image did lead me to the topic for this Wearable Wednesday so “thank you honey.”
After dissecting the elements of what she is wearing I saw the Earth, all natural, and Organic. Today’s Wearable Wednesday is just that earthy, Organic threads, that are vintage and a little hippie from Soul-Flower a company that promotes a peaceful, bohemian lifestyle. These clothes however are super comfortable and won’t leave a thorn in your side….Cool Threads for Kind Heads.
So I am working on ordering a cake for my mom’s birthday. I received a few recommendations for local bakeries from friends. Since I haven’t ordered a custom cake since my wedding, I wanted to have a referral before opening my check book. Here is what happened- There was a bakery to the north, and 2 to the south of me. I first called the bakery to my north. It just made more sense since my party is headed that direction. I talked to a really nice lady over the phone who said they have over 85 flavor combinations (wow, that got me excited) but that before ordering I must come in and get a face to face consultation. Perfect, I had some free time open the next day. I drove the 8 miles up town to find a very disappointing result. The bakery was in a modest strip mall (that’s fine) but it was filthy, not well maintained, and to top it off the nice lady I spoke to the night before WASN’T there. Her staff had no idea when she would return or how to get in touch with her. I walked right back to my car, promising myself I would never go there again.
The 2nd place I called was very kind but way over priced and a little too far away. So, scratch them off the list.
Visit #three, the final bakery to the south. I talked to the sweetest girl who assured me my cake would be ready by tomorrow. We built a cake that is going to be tasty, tasteful and reasonably priced. I am in luck. It is a bakery that is well kept, quaint, and not too far out of the way in a seaside shopping center. Yay…let there be cake!!
The lesson I learned from this is that I needed to do a little research on my own. When making a decision that is special and is going to show others my value, style, and taste I needed to make sure that I was confident in who I ordered from. I was willing to pay a little more but not an exuberant amount of money and I also wanted a good tasting cake (that really goes without saying).
Make sure that when you are ordering for yourself or business that your purchase rightfully represents you!
Have a great weekend.
Today September 21st is Alzheimer’s Action Day. Sorry for the late notice but you are supposed to be wearing purple today. If you didn’t get the memo, never fear, you can still support the cause by buying something purple for World Alzheimer’s Month. There is something for everyone- casual, dressy, you can even accessorize your baby, or get a bracelet or hat. Shop for the cause!
For today’s Wearable Wednesday we are going to chat about Jedidiah. I have experience with Jedidiah on two levels- as screen printers and as Jedidiah, the clothing line.
The Jedidiah printing facility was once doing contract work for a company I used to work for. I loved going to their shop, doing press checks and approving proofs. The staff was always kind, professional, detailed oriented, and ready to get the shirt done right. I knew that if I worked with these printers, I would receive a quality product.
This kind of workmanship translates to the brand itself. The Jedidiah clothing line has intelligent, detailed, cool graphics that are printed on quality shirts. I have purchased multiple shirts for my hubby who proudly wears their stuff. Here is a little background about the company. And, believe me the staff exudes this kind of belief system. They want to “Be the change you want to see in the world” – Gandhi. This comes straight from their site…
Who We Are
Jedidiah is a humanitarian-based apparel brand aspiring to cultivate change, one garment at a time. Our mission is to use apparel sales as a vehicle to provide care, support and financial resources to those in need.
What We Do
Each season, Jedidiah partners with a distinctive and effective non-profit organization to raise money and awareness for life-changing causes. Every Jedidiah piece is creatively inspired and tied to a cause, all benefiting their non-profit organization.
Jedidiah has recently partnered with StandUp For Kids. This non-profit “stands up” for homeless and at risk youth all over the country. Here are some of the amazing tees that Jedidiah has come up with in relation to this non-profit. Proceeds from sales of this clothing benefit StandUp For Kids. There are so many more shirts that I couldn’t fit here. Go to their site, find one you like and buy it at Jedidiah USA
